All a bit damp here

Well, disaster strikes here at Ringo's World! While we were away looking at castles, forts and Hadrian's Wall there was a a once in 400 years storm (according to our local water company) over the homestead. The result was that the pressure built and the drains - sewage filled - exploded and they filled up everyones cellar. Fortunately the stunties that built Ringo's World put in a liner so when the pressure built and the seal failed only liquid entered, rather than the 'solid' waste that flooded into everyone else's cellars. Phew! Still stinks though.

On returning from our voyage of exploration Ringo's World was very very damp, not much in the form of liquid water (well water mixed with other stuff) was visible, but many many things were full of 'water' and the smell, well I imagine Orks smell better. Anyway, the insurance people sent an adept out who put in a dehumidifier and fans and for the last week or so we've been pouring it's collections down the drain! Lot's and lots of water.

So, after sorting out all the stuff earlier in the year I now have to box up all the salvageable stuff and list out all the damaged stuff. Luckily all of my really rare things are fine, so that's a relief. There would be no way I could obtain some of the stuff I have as it went out of production many years ago, have lost the original Adeptus Titanicus rules but that's about it on the rare stuff.

Next week sees the insurance people coming out and removing the flooring and plasterboard etc, so for the foreseeable future all projects are on hold - pity as I'd prepped up twenty Word Bearers, bunged an old Rhino in a Dettol bath and ordered (now arrived) 10 Crusade Armour marines for my Alpha Legion from Forge World before we went away. I'll have to see if Mrs Simpkins will let me select a few paints and set the airbrush up in the livingroom in the meantime - a long shot but hey.

So, that's whats happening here at Ringo's world, on with the boxing and mopping.
